Comprehensive Eye Examinations For All Ages
We offer testing and products for a wide range of vision loss conditions. Products include fixed or variable strength magnifiers & telescopes, digital electronic magnifiers (both portable & desktop), access to wearable low vision smart glasses, and more.
We provide in-depth assessments for how the eye muscles work together as a team and how the brain processes visual information. Certain conditions can be treated with computer programs which can be dispensed to the patient and their progress tracked remotely by our doctors
Our optometrists work closely with the staff and surgeons at Horizon Laser Vision Centre in Regina & Saskatoon to give you the best possible LASIK, PRK, or RLE outcomes and manage your post-operative care. Horizon also offers the most current technology in Corneal Collagen Cross-linking therapy as treatment for Keratoconus/Pellucid Marginal Degeneration, as well as Intensed Pulse Light (IPL) Therapy for Dry Eye Disease.
Our doctors have the knowledge and ability to treat your chronic and acute problems with dry eyes. We carry many products and can perform in-office treatments such as Blephex debridement or punctal (tear duct) occlusion to help improve your symptoms.
Many ocular medical conditions can be managed and treated by our doctors. Several conditions, such as infections, allergies, styes, foreign body, abrasions, and symptoms of flashes/floaters are a covered service with your valid Saskatchewan health card.
All adult exams include an Optomap, a sophisticated scan that produces a continuous ~180 degree image of the retina. This can be used to diagnose and monitor a variety of retinal conditions including retinal holes, tears, detachments, nevi, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, etc.
All diabetic exams include an OCT (optical coherence tomography) scan. It is similar to an ultrasound but uses light waves to provide detailed images of the layers of the retina. It is excellent at detecting diabetic retinopathy and a wide variety of other retinal and macular diseases, such as macular degeneration and glaucoma. An in-office treatment we offer for eyelid disease and dry eye is called BlephEx. It is a hand-held instrument that thoroughly cleans the eyelids and lashes of harmful bacteria, mites, and can result in the production of better quality tears.
Central and peripheral vision is an important indicator of your overall visual quality and eye health. We have two different instruments to help diagnose and monitor any problems with your visual field. Our FDT (frequency doubling technology) and HFA (Humphrey Field Analyzer) are used to determine any irregularities with your visual field. Visual field defects can arise from conditions such as glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa, strokes, and brain tumours.
